Dorte Bjerre Jensen
Moving moves me. It´s the life force within me and around me.
Dorte Bjerre Jensen loves to move – as a performer, teacher, dancer – as the creature she is. She has been a soccer player, a tree climber, gymnast, and martial art (Tae kwon Do) practitioner. In her twenties she was introduced to contact improvisation at the Academy for Music, Dance & Theatre and was immediately hooked.
Contact improvisation is a dynamic dance-form that embraces playfulness, develops technical and sensory skills, leads to mild and wild improvisations, and offers a path towards constant development and challenge.
She has educated as a school teacher, yoga teacher, Rosen therapist and “Conscious Touch” therapist, and has many years of teaching experience.
Currently she has her own private practice in therapeutic bodywork and somatic movement, and teaches Akroyoga, Contact Impro and YogaContact at CI- Copenhagen (contact improvisation Copenhagen)as well as various dance and theatre schools: The Danish National School of Performing Arts, Københavns Akademi for Musik, Dans & Teater/DT/DanceTheater. ActingSchool Ophelia, etc.
She has organized, taught at, and participated in festivals and workshops in Contact Impro, akroyoga, therapeutic and somatic work, and performance around the world (including New York, Berlin, London, San Francisco, St. Petersburg and Stockholm etc).
Since the '90s she has been producing and performing, as well as a performer and dancer in shows, documentaries, movies, events and so forth.
Presently she is touring with a piece called ”The Body Bureau”.
