Defne Erdur (TR/FR) is multi-disciplinary artist, teacher, therapist & a social worker trained in Contemporary Dance (PhD), Sociology (MA), Inter-model Art Therapy, Body Therapies (Deep Tissue Release, Trigger Point & Movement, Integrative Cranio Sacral Therapy), Trauma Healing (Somatic Experiencing) & Meditation (WPI Trainer). Invested in building trustful, peaceful & creative environments; the prospect of all her work is to mediate people to relate to their own self & accompany them in their physical, mental & emotional processes towards wellbeing. She has been teaching at the Performing Arts Department of State Conservatory & Elim Sende Association in Istanbul, and has worked for WINPeace and Beyond Borders Initiative towards peace building in the region.
Teaching regularly at ImPulsTanz Festival she also gives workshops in many countries (Turkey, Austria, France, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Egypt, Malaysia, Thailand...) and settings around different themes with & for different populations. She's been sharing her Contact Improvisation quest for the last 10 years; building a CI community in Turkey; inviting colleagues; visiting and teaching in festivals herself. She is also the co-founder & editor of IDOCDE website dedicated to documentation of contemporary dance education.
