Liquid Gravity

Contact Improvisation and Watermotion

The warm and soft support of the water invites a surrendering into pure physical sensation and into a state of being where movement and touch are tenderly facilitating the first experiences of living in a human body.
When floating in water the body remembers early movement patterns and qualities, which underlie our highly complex movement potential. Playing with elements of Body-Mind-Centering and the developmental movement patterns we find a deeply physical access to motion.
From this safe and nourishing place inside of us we will allow the body to reach out into the world around and unfold its curiosity and playfulness into dancing Contact in water, discovering new dimensions and options in movement organisation.
On land we will give the body time and space for the experience to be carried and supported also within gravity.
We will yield and surrender into whatever is carrying us.
"Support precedes movement" - before every movement the body is searching for and clarifying his relationship with gravity and support. On this BASE we find effortlessness, easy tone modulation and juicy-organic power.
Furthermore we will work with so called „pathways“ (movement sequences), to learn and deepen Contact Improvisation material, and to experience and understand the underlying principles  - the technical approach of these classes are based on the CI Training Program Berlin:
With different scores we will create spaces and atmospheres, where playfulness, technique and improvisation will melt into a truely multidimensional experience of being and dancing.

In the first class on dec 31st will go to a warm water pool. This water day will be a laboratory day, there will be no teaching/guiding in the pool!
The water class will be prepared in the studio in the morning, and we will work on transitioning from water to land in the studio on the day after. Also we cannot use the group reduction anymore, so we individually have to pay the full fee, which means extra costs for you: 24,50 for 4h, 29,50 if you stay the whole day, plus public transport in Berlin.

Nevertheless we are looking forward to a wonderful experience!
